Which leads me back to being the proud sole 7 string player in our band. Bottom line is, a detuned 6 string just won't cut it for what these songs require live! I need the full range of all 7 strings to play "Psychosocial" (for solo) and "Still Frame" (not my pick - chords require E standard on top 6 strings), and probably a few others. So I had it all figured out to buy the Digitech drop pedal, integrate into my rig, and even had a couple gift cards to make the purchase, when I realized for my parts and solos on these songs, 6 strings is not enough. Previously, he was using an old Ibby 6 stringer tuned down - he hated it really and can now show up to the gig with one less guitar by using the drop pedal. So the other guitarist in my band, who is more of an old school Randy Rhoads era type player, recently picked up the Digitech Drop pedal to cover our low tuned cover tunes like Slipknot and Sevendust.
